Picture of one of my favorite NYC steam locomotives NYC 5424 J3-A " A Hudson " named after the Hudson River . I rode on these locomovtives in 1952 with my father in Toledo , Ohio
My Uncle Pete on the left had 48 years on the N.Y.C. as a Police Officer.He died in June 2005 at the age of 96.The last N.Y.C. Police Officer on the Toledo Division. My grandfather in the middle had 49 years on theN.Y.C. as a Switchman and died in 1956 at the age of 71. My father also had 43 years on the N.Y.C as a Police Lieutenant and died in 1988 at the age of 75. This poto was taken in 1954 in the back yard of my Uncle Pete's home in Toledo,Ohio on Campbell Street.

My son, Brett, at 12 years of age in 1988,operating Conrail locomotive CR 7712,a GP-38. I might add that he did an excellent job operating these locomotives!
My son,Brett, a policeman for the Wakeman Police Department in Huron County,Ohio and my German Shepherd Zena. Brett also works as a Cuyahoga County Sheriff Deputy for the Cleveland Sewer District.

Rebecca's father Ray is so proud of her as she turned 25 on July 26,2007.She graduated in 2000 from the Midview School System and then attended Ohio State University for 5 years, graduating in 2005 with a degree in Environmental Science.Rebecca is now a 3rd year medical student at Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland,Ohio.

My daughter,Rebecca,and her fiance Dr. Jonathan,M.D.,a clinical pathologist,at Jon's brother's wedding in Iowa.They first met at the Ohio State Medical Center,where she was attending medical school.

The last day at Conrail's Fairlane yard May 31 , 1999 ( my 40th anniversary on the railroad ) .I was there when NYC opened the yard in 1958 with only 14 tracks ( added about 25 more since 1970 ), I took my daughter Rebecca to work with me . She was a junior in high school . She gradulated from Ohio State Univ. in Science major and is now in her third year of medical school in Cleveland at the age of 24 !
Collinwood Diesel Facility in Cleveland,Ohio The last Baltimore & Ohio SD-50 CSX 8595 This Locomotive was bound for the Museum in Baltimore,Maryland back in 2001.
All the way from Powder River Basin,Wyoming's coal field, to its final destination on the Timberlake Track at Eastlake ,Ohio to the First Energy Corporation Coal Plant. Engineer D.Albert and Trainman Ray Bottles wait for instructions before going onto the discharge shoot to discharge 115 cars of coal weighing in at 17,500 tons. This is almost a daily operation with these coal cars at this location. Former Toledo Division East Engineer's and Fireman's list that i worked with during my Railroad career on the NYC,PC and Conrail.
